The Beaches. If you don't know them yet, you will. They were the band that had everyone including Buble buzzing at the 2018 Juno Awards. A Toronto product named after the city's beautiful park and, yes -- beaches, were in fine form in Victoria at the Capital Ballroom just a few weeks later. The venue was warm and the band was hot, a consensus muttered often in the crowd.
The band has some great songs, and a unique"who gives a rip" stage presence that makes women look up to them and men admire them most notably because they know their way around a crunchy rock song.
This was a tricky show for my meagre lenses and had me plotting to buy that lens that could shoot a dark stage that was occasionally flooded with blue and purples hues, and that's it. Fun show, I'd love to see them in a festival line-up, bring em back for the Phillips Backyard Weekender. Please and thank you?
